… maybe saying it 3 times over will make it magically appear. Hey, it worked for Beetlejuice.
Nothing says “spring” to me like florals. OK, I may also be the sort of person who’s always looking for an excuse to wear florals, but hey – sue me! Having said that, what easier way to “cheer up” a cold day than with a burst of colour; that’s what I’ve been doing with a vengeance lately.
I actually don’t have a ton of full-on florals in my closet, and I’ve had to get creative with some of the ones I do have. Six months ago, I could wear this cute mini-dress from Zara with a pair of tights and no second thoughts as to the likelihood of my being arrested for public indecency.

Today, the dress barely covers my butt. So I decided to wear it as tunic instead. Luckily, I found a great pair of maternity skinny jeans from Heidi Klum’s Loved collection (at Motherhood Maternity), which are a fab choice for any longer, blousier top. [Plus, they take the sting out of being parted from all my favourite denim.] Add a jacket and – boom – a weekend outfit that might motivate me to actually leave my couch.

I’m also not above scavenging in my mom’s closet for things to borrow. This is where the years of style indoctrination pay off; she now has lots of cute stuff I don’t mind wearing in a pinch. Of course, I probably won’t be able to get away with doing it much longer, so I’d better make the most of it while I can, no?

And, finally, as a last resort, there is always, well … a trip to one of my favourite stores. This embroidered Rebecca Taylor camisole was too adorable to pass up, even though it’s already a bit short for me. Still, with some clever layering, no one need be any the wiser.

  1. You have GOT to be the only pregnant lady I know who still has the figure (and chutzpah) for skinny jeans. I think I like the dress even better as a top!
