They say that money can’t buy you love, but a little bit of money can sometimes buy you something you end up loving a lot. Take my new Joe Fresh striped knit top; for $24, I got a versatile piece that’s inspiring me to have fun with my clothes again. Every time I look at it, another outfit idea pops into my head. For real.

Check these out.

Some jeans, a pop of colour or two, and I’m ready to run some errands looking a lot more put together than you’d expect from this frazzled new mom.

Jeans, Abercrombie & Fitch; shoes, Stuart Weitzman;
earrings, Winners; scarf, consignment.

For a date night (should my husband and I be so lucky), a pair of wide-leg jeans offers a dressed-up option. [As an aside, wide-leg pants are something of a trend this season, especially with the 70s revival we saw on the fall/winter runways. I like this version because it’s a cross between a true wide-leg, palazzo-type pant, and a flare, which (together with the dark wash of the denim) makes it more flattering to my body type.]
Jeans, iT Jeans; belt, Tommy Hilfiger;
necklace, Banana Republic

And if I’m feeling a little funky, or the weather turns cold, I can always re-visit last year’s riding boots.

Jeans, American Eagle; jacket, Marc Jacobs; boots, Dublin;
necklace, Banana Republic
