I may not be quite as clothes-mad as in the past, but I have fallen head over heels for the Louis Vuitton spring 2012 collection – all pastels, lace collars, and accessories to die for. Just take a look!

I. Want. It. All. Suit, bag, shoes, everything. OK, so this might not be the most appropriate attire to wear on a last-minute diaper run to Walmart, but in the fabulous alternate universe in which I would be wearing this particular ensemble, there would be no such occasions; a magical diaper genie (not of the “poop sausage” variety for any of you fellow parents out there, but a real, honest-to-goodness, I Dream of Jeanie-genie) would tend to Junior’s needs in those more, um, fragrant moments, leaving me free to sip my afternoon tea and plan our next outing to the Tuileries Garden. [Yes, in this alternate universe, we would be living in Paris. Naturally.]

In that same universe, this would be a Tuesday outfit. Because I’m usually miserable on Tuesdays, and this would go a long way towards remedying that. Check out those shoes!

Right? Those shoes are the chocolate fudge sauce on this ice cream sundae of style – yum! And this jacket is pretty sweet too. So awesome, in fact, it doesn’t even require pants.

To be fair, it wasn’t just Louis Vuitton who got my imagination all fired up. Over at Chanel, this little number had me thinking about a career as a flight attendant on the world’s most glamorous airline. International woman of mystery indeed.

Meanwhile, over at Alexander McQueen, blush is the colour of the world’s most prim and proper dominatrix. Read into it what you will, but I love this silhouette so, so much. It’s an overload of mixed messages, and I’m really digging every last one of them.

Talk about a total contrast; I also adore the austerity of this Valentino number. Severe, yet still utterly feminine. The beige colour fires up my style senses, though it would probably do no favours for my skin tone. Of course, in my fabulous alternate universe, anything is possible.

And finally, the Jane Austen-phile in me couldn’t resist this particular outfit. If Miss Elizabeth Bennett was a Goth, she’d be rocking this so hard!

  1. Isn’t it?!

Book geek alert! I’m reading my Georgette Heyer Regency romances right now (which are really fun for any Austenite), and I’m totally picturing this dress for an evening at Almack’s (though probably in a lighter colour appropriate for a unmarried young lady).
