I looooooved wearing this Nathalie Lete dress, so get ready: it’s photo overload time. No, I’m serious. Get your scrolling finger ready.

I normally avoid strapless dresses like the plague, because they never fit my bust well, but this one is a rare exception. It fits like a glove! As a bonus, it doesn’t make me look 5 months pregnant in side profile, which also tends to happen with dresses that have a fitted bodice and fuller bottom. I basically love everything about this dress, and it was a perfect choice for a friend visit on a beautiful summer afternoon.

I even busted out my rose hold Giuseppe Zanotti sandals because I get so few occasions to wear them, and this seemed like a good one: they’re definitely lounging-on-a-patio footwear, and not the walk-a-mile-uphill type. Oh, but they’re oh-so-pretty, and pretty memorable for being one of my few Vancouver thrift finds. I do love me a shoe with a story …

Mossy Green

Cardigan, Anthropologie (thrifted); top, LOFT (swap); jeans, William Rast (thrifted); shoes, Ellen Tracy; bag, YSL

Between the colour and the texture, there is something very moss-like about this cardigan — amirite? Strangely, olive green is not a colour I wear a lot even though it’s supposed to flatter redheads. I think it’s because I prefer cooler toned colours, generally. Still, this is a perfectly cozy sweater, so I’m not letting my prejudices colour my view of it (see what I did there?). There are a few things in my closet with which I’m hoping to pair it, but this was too easy an outfit to pass up on a hectic Friday morning.

Throwback Thursday

I feel extra proud whenever I wear this Tristan jacket, because it’s one of the oldest pieces in my closet. I bought it when I was pregnant with my son, which would make it … five and a half years old. Um, excuse me while I get this pesky something out of my eye *sniff*

OK, I’m back. The jacket is actually from the late-2000s, but I bought it at a consignment store long after lusting over it at the mall. It’s still holding up — style- and quality-wise — very well, all things considered. I paired it with my colorblock Pink Tartan sheath dress, for a made-in-Canada party. And I resisted the urge to spice up the outfit with a pop of red … by adding a pop of fuchsia instead. I hope you are impressed by my creativity 😉
