This is basically The Minuteglass-inspired version of this outfit. Very warm, very comfortable. Call it Northern Alberta casual glam. Of course, I also wore a coat because this is Northern Alberta, and I’m not completely reckless.
I enjoyed this look a ton (thanks, Cassie!), and wore it a couple of times over the holidays. I liked it so much, I’m going to try tweaking it for the (Friday casual) office. Stay tuned!
I might as well rename this blog Fifty Shades of Casual at this point, and call it a day. I’m all out of cute post titles, but you get the gist: it’s all casual, all the time. Or at least until next week. In the meantime, enjoy (?) my umpteenth iteration of fancy lumberjack. It’s fancy because I wore a necklace … you probably can’t see. But it’s there, I promise:
I like this shirt a lot but, damn, that is one busy print.
(If one of you guys makes an 101 Dalmatians joke, we will no longer be friends.)
Just kidding. Or, rather, just temporary. I’m catching up on OOTD photos from over the holiday break, and then it’ll be business(wear) as usual in a week or so. But only for a little while … because we’re heading south, baby! All the way to Mexico, kids and grandparents in tow. If that is not the definition of “starting the year right”, I don’t know what is.
What can I say about this outfit? It was comfortable. And I dig the plaid on plaid. Actually, it may turn into one of my go-tos for days when I don’t really have time to over-think my casual wear (read, most days), but still want to look like I made an effort. Mixing plaids qualifies, right? Low expectations, folks: a fine tradition on BCRL since 2010.
