I bought this blazer and skirt from a local consignment store recently. They’re both Banana Republic pieces, so it kinda makes sense that they go together perfectly. They’re versatile pieces that will, for sure, mix really well with my existing wardrobe, but I seem stuck on wanting to pair them all the time. The first time, I wore a white top – boring! – so this time I threw in a wild card. Chartreuse is pretty much the definition of wild, right?

  1. Looks great! I’m envious of your well-lit indoor set up. I know you don’t love it but it works for me and the pictures show what you wore which is basically all I need šŸ™‚

    • I’m so happy to hear that! I have to do a lot more photo editing now to adjust the light/exposure (?) because they come out so dark – even though I use (literally) industrial strength flood lights – and I always worry that this messes up the colours. Thanks for the feedback šŸ™‚

    • I used to be the same with blazers. Always used to reach for a cardigan first. But I’m getting more and more wear out of my blazers. It helps if they have a little special detail or something – makes them seem less “blah”, you know.

    • Yes! It wasn’t something I gravitated towards immediately, but after seeing it on my friend (who ended up not wanting to get it), I got to see its possibilities. Glad that I picked it up!

  2. I like it! I like those “unexpected” colours with grey like chartreuse and mustard. Purple or red would also pair nicely with this outfit as well. I also think I need to get a few (or at least one) patterned work skirt as I do have lots of solid tops and it would make a change from solid or plaid skirts.

    • I was totally going to do red, but then decided for something a bit more unconventional šŸ˜‰ I guess I was just in a chartreuse mood, haha.

I have a different problem – patterned everything! Well, you can see that from the blog …
