This is the vintage dress I thrifted last month – it’s quite lovely, isn’t it? The floral pattern looks rather modern to me, so maybe it’s not as vintage as I assumed based on the construction of the dress (the lining and hems are exquisite). Or, perhaps, abstract florals have been a thing for a long time.

Of course, because it’s winter and because I wore this to work, I added a topper in the form of my cream coloured Theory cardigan (a Winners clearance rack find from last year). I like how the relaxed style of the cardigan modernizes the classic vibe of the dress. The gold shoes were a more recent Winners clearance find. I think they’re a surprisingly versatile alternative to nude pumps; the gold is subtle, not too disco, although the I did get a “twinkle toes” comment from a cheeky co-worker.
Beautiful! Such gorgeous colours on you and WOAH you are looking so trim. Good work my friend. Been having a blog catchup today and a few of your backlogged posts featured awesome thrifted finds, it’s so interesting to me as there just isn’t anywhere near where I live that I could do this. I donate all my old Boden / Mini Boden to the British Heart Foundation shop but most charity shops are just full of high street tat!
Thanks, Lou! It sucks not to have any good thrift options close by – I can’t imagine what I’d do without them. I’m happy to hunt for you, though – I think we share the same love for old Anthro, so it should be pretty easy 😉
Such a lovely dress!
Thank you 🙂
I LOVE vintage dresses. They’re unique, sometimes hand-made.. like the one I own from Toronto.
This is such a pretty dress…the colors of it look gorgeous on you!
So cute! Love this vintage look!
Thanks 🙂
I love this whole outfit! Giving off a “Madmen” vibe, timeless. I really dig those shoes!
Thanks, Jeri 🙂
