Here’s that See by Chloe tunic again, worn as a top … again. To wear it with pants, I first tried making a no-sew hem using double-sided tape, but I wasn’t pleased with the results. Luckily, there was an easier solution at hand. I simply tucked in the ends of the tunic, and folded over the rest so that it “bloused out” over my pants waistband. Easy peasy. Throw on a burgundy cardigan and some comfy wedges, and I’m ready for another (hearing) day, sitting in the peanut gallery. To keep things from getting too boring, I added a bright green bag. Such a happy green, right? Perfect for brightening up … well, another hearing day. (And rather apropos for St. Patrick’s, no?)
And sorry, peeps: if my posts lately have been extra brief and extra boring, now you know why. The last couple of weeks have been a long, hard slog, and I’m just about tapped out of everything, including words about clothes.
Pardon my ignorance, but in spite of my environmental law class in university and all the episodes of Suits and The Good Wife that I’ve seen, there is a lot I don’t know about the law profession. What does being in “the peanut gallery” entail? I’m guessing you’re sitting in on a trial or a hearing, but not as counsel. Do you have to take notes, run errands for counsel, just sit and pay attention? Are you allowed have devices like tablets or phones? I hope you have time to daydream about something fun, like your writing. π
No worries if you don’t have the time to answer this, I’m just curious.
The hearing I am currently in is a regulatory one. There are a lot of parties, so we all have to wait our turn to cross examine. The “downtime” so to speak, is used to take notes on the evidence that comes out, and update our own cross, etc. I finally made it to the mic today, and will go up again tomorrow. It’s definitely an adrenaline rush compared to sitting in the back π
Thanks for the explanation. π
Glad you finally got to change up your routine, and I hope your days in the peanut gallery will come to an end soon. π
Love that blouse so much. That print is just awesome. You look very pulled together, professional and yet cool and quickly. Cheers, Michele
Thank you! Wearing black all the time, while safe, gets boring quickly, so I like to switch it up.
Love that burgundy cardi! It seems like such a versatile piece. I have some burgundy sweaters: I may have to spring for a cardigan too.
You know I love my burgundy — so I would def support that effort π
