Evil Eye

The “evil eye” motif is one of my favourites, in my own art and generally. At the same time, I have been obsessed lately with graphic tees and sweatshirts; so when I first spotted this Kenzo version, I coveted it immediately. Getting it — via Poshmark — was a whole SAGA, but it was worth the hassle. It fits really well into the “noir” side of my aesthetic, as demonstrated here paired with my Goth Princess skirt. I can’t wait to wear it again.

Black Watch

On the other side of the style spectrum, I am still drawing inspiration from the costuming of the most recent Little Women adaptation. This may be my favourite Jo March-inspired outfit to date. I love the contrasting patterns, and how the unstructured Shirin Guild jacket (a huge thrift score) gives a modern edge to this silhouette. I also recently learned that this particular plaid/tartan is called “Black Watch”, and is reserved for people who don’t have a family tartan. I think that’s pretty cool, especially since they picked a lovely pattern for us.

Hearts In

Skirtober is going well, thanks for asking. I’ve had so much fun styling all my skirts, and I try not to play favourites but … well, this one is up there on the (hypothetical, ahem) list. I’m rediscovering my love of aqua, and its many colour pairings. Here, it looks fantastic with bright poppy red. I love the touch of whimsy added by the heart on the sweater. So much fun!

Autumnal Vibes

I don’t wear a lot of traditional knee-length pencil skirts these days, but I had to make an exception for this beautiful Etro skirt I thrifted last month. I just couldn’t pass up that print. The kick pleat detail on the back is fun too. I love pairing brown (and chartreuse) with blue – it’s an electric combination.
