Ok, you guys: I don’t know how I feel about this outfit. It’s kinda cute but, in retrospect, maybe it doesn’t really feel like “me”. At least I was having a Good Hair Day, dandruffy-looking snow notwithstanding. I appreciate Mother Nature’s efforts in trying to live up to that Bing Crosby song but it wasn’t necessary. No, really. All I want for Christmas is to not look like I have a horrible scalp problem.

snow, snow, go away

As you may surmise, I wore this on Christmas Day (for dinner at my parents’ house) so, of course, I had to paint on (hastily and poorly) a holiday-appropriate manicure: sparkly and red. I refrained from nail art-ing a snowman or some mistletoe, but my bag made up for it by being extra gaudy.

  1. It’s a lovely outfit and your legs are killer with that skirt length / tights / booties combo. A holiday get up can always feel a bit “not like me” because it is a costume of sorts. You nailed it tho. Seasonally appropriate but not overtly so. Plus I love the effect of snow with the bag’s lace detail. Total sugar plum fairy!

    • I think it’s a cape thing? I don’t know – sometimes it makes me look like a linebacker, and sometimes it’s got just the right silhouette.

  2. Think about it this way: Trying out outfits that don’t feel like “you” helps prevent you from getting stuck in a rut because you’re trying different things 🙂

    • That’s a very good point. I’m just afraid of looking silly sometimes, but then I remind myself that there are probably enough embarrassing outfits documented here already, so what difference does one more make? 😉
