September was one of those months that seems to take forever right up until the very end when you go, “wait, it’s over already?” It was busy and stressful, and what’s new. Sigh. One of these recaps, I’ll have something really exciting to share, I swear. Or, at least, I hope. In the meantime, I have some outfits to show you.
Seeing as how September was, in all seriousness, a fairly long month (work outfit-wise), there were some early gems that I had almost forgotten. Before I looked at the collages above, I was feeling kind of “meh” about my sartorial efforts this month, which was a shame – September will forever be “back to school” month for me, when I usually get a renewed verve for wardrobe remixing. Judging by #1, 5, 16 and 21, maybe I haven’t lost my mojo after all. Let’s just agree to ignore #6 and 10, mkay?
My favourite pieces this month were the Simons floral shirt, and my thrifted MaxMara skirt. The latter, in particular, is such a good work(wear)horse. I think it will continue to serve me well in the coming months, and into next season (which shall remain nameless). But, first: October!
Tell me, what are you looking forward to this month?
Some serious gems early on, the first and second lines had me thinking “stellar”. I love these side by side recaps. Probably told you that in August. And July. And…. what’s new š
Love, love, love your blog! Am I correct that you are a lawyer? As a lawyer in training and an English major in another life, I am a kindred spirit.
Can I ask what you use to curl your hair/how you do it?
Thank you & welcome! It definitely sounds like we’re kindred spirits – although I ended up in Science in my undergrad, I always wanted to pursue a degree in English.
For my hair, I use an oval barrel curling wand, and I wrap my hair (in 1-3 inch sections, depending how “curly” I want it to be) around it, starting fairly close to the root and working downwards. I hope that makes sense. There are lots of tutorials online that do a better job than I ever could, but it’s pretty simple.
Perfect! Thanks so much.
Loved 5. Simons poly goodness for the win!
I compared this capsule with your June capsule, and it’s interesting how even though you use some of the pieces the June one reads summer and the September one reads fall! Maybe it’s darker pieces in the fall capsule and more mustardy yellow and more blue in the June one, but it’s nice to know that you can have all season pieces – especially because our summers are so short and our winters are so long!
