Yellow is such a happy colour, isn’t it? Not all yellows are particularly flattering to my skin tone, but this warm, sunshine-y shade isn’t too cruel. I added my new sparkly necklace from J. Crew Factory (a gift from the mister — thanks again, honey!) for a bit of contrast … and to satisfy the inner magpie.
I was going to wear my usual, boring black boots, but the day promised to be as sunny as my outfit, so I made a last minute switcheroo. Leopard print pumps with plaid? It made sense at the time, ok? In retrospect, maybe I should have kept things safe with black flats. Oh well. There’s always next time — an outfit this cute is due for a repeat, methinks.
When reading your thrifting posts, I always get excited to see how you’ll style a new (to you) piece. I’m so happy to see the skirt and shoes in action! I mean, really…those shoes? For $15?! WHAT A STEAL! The thrifting gods were watching over you on that day 😉 You may have your doubts, but I really love how they pair with plaid!
Absolutely! Thrifting gods have been very nice to me lately 😉
I do think the pairing worked well IRL more so than in the photos. I was really happy with the outfit.
I’m actually liking the leopard print with the plaid in this outfit more than I think I would like black. It looks like the skirt has more of a brown tone in the plaid than black, which works really nicely with the shade of leopard you have in the shoes.
That’s true. Black is easy, but sometimes it’s good to be a bit more adventurous 😉
This outfit is so great and springy! I too love the leopard with the skirt and I think for the same reasons as Cassie – it really works with the brown tones in the skirt and doesn’t even come off as much of a pattern. That skirt is pretty amazing too. 🙂
Oh Adina I love this! You look so pretty and youthful and full of joy. Yellow is a great colour on you and this skirt with those heels – awesome!
Thank you, thank you, and thank you. You’re so sweet! xx
