I don’t do black and white often, especially not without throwing in some accent colour, but I invariably like the rare exceptions. I’m afraid this is one of those outfits that looks better in person than in pictures (at least those taken with my iPhone camera, on my driveway, while pretending not to notice the neighbours driving by and telling themselves “what is the deal with those people, they seem normal enough the rest of the time”). It’s the most basic of basic, but sometimes basic is best, you know?
Everything here except my top is thrifted, including the Famous Manolos. Who knew I would end up loving a pair of white pumps so much? Mr. Blahnik makes beautiful (and comfortable) shoes, so perhaps it shouldn’t have come as a surprise. Oh, if the stars would align again, so I could find another pair! And if the Campari Mary Janes are out of the question, I’ll be happy to settle for some Valentino Rockstuds instead — I’m very reasonable like that. Are you listening, thrifting gods? It’s me, Adina. xoxo
I love the black and white! And I am especially partial to professional outfits that manage to make stripes look fancy 🙂
Love the outfit and goodness gracious me…those shoes are gorgeous. Fantastic find. Cheers, Michele
Love the outfit – sometimes it’s nice to go all neutral and classic (stripes!). And of course I love those shoes.
I’m the same – I never do just black and white without throwing a colour in! This looks great though, you pull it off with your hair colour as the accent!
I just realized I had red nails … so, fail on the no-accent-colour thing.
I really like this outfit. It’s very chic!
I can’t tell if that’s the same striped top I have from J Crew Factory (maybe not because mine is made out of a fairly thick cotton fabric that wouldn’t tuck in very well).
It might be the same one. Mine is fairly thick cotton too. I think it works tucked in with these pants because they’re a slouchy/loose fit (not my usual Sloan pants) so there’s more room.
