I hate Apple. It is the paradox of my life that I can’t seem to make do without its products. For example, this blog is brought to you by my iPhone (which is what I use to take my photos) and my iMac (which is what I use to upload said photos and prepare my posts). Or at least, that USED to be the case. I made the mistake of caving in to the temptation of the shiny new Message features (hello, gifs!), and uploaded the iOS 10 on my iPhone. The result? My iPhone is no longer compatible with my 8-year old iMac. Ugh.
The past week has been a frustrating exercise in trying to cobble together a blogging solution while I figure out what to do about my desktop situation. I’ve been editing photos (poorly, as these pics prove) on a basic Photoshop app on my iPad and uploading to WordPress that way, but the results are screwy and since my website coding skills are non-existent, I had to do some damage control through my old WP plug-in on my (PC) laptop. Everything. Is. A. Mess. This post took about 5 times longer than usual to get ready, and I came *this* close to destroying every Apple product I own in the process. If I can’t figure out a solution quickly, I’m afraid this blog will have to go on hiatus. Sad face.
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Sorry. Ok. I had to get that off my chest. I’m back, let’s talk outfit. I was not having a great week last week (generally), so naturally I reached for the outfit version of comfort food. My favourite top, old favourite shoes. I was originally going to wear a different blazer, but it didn’t seem to work, so I pulled out … what else, but a favourite old blazer. It’s the little things that make a difference, don’t they? Thankfully, this outfit formula is not something Apple can get its hands on. Yeah, I’m still mad.
I can’t use the Pinterest app since updating to iOS10. I barely use it anyway but sometimes screenshot or take photos of catalogue pictures for outfit ideas and just like to store them all away together. It opens but as soon as I try to upload a photo it crashes. Seems to be my only iOS10 casualty so far.
Hope you can get something sorted quickly x
Ugh! Why does Apple always do this to us? And why don’t I ever learn?? Something ALWAYS goes wonky after an upgrade.
So sorry for the technical difficulties, and hope it works out well!
Thanks! I’m making do with my “temporary” solution but while I’m getting more profficient at it, it still takes up more time than i’d like. One way or another, though, I’ll make it work π
Sorry about the technical difficulties. I’d sorta cheat my way around it by using Dropbox. You can use the app to upload your images from your phone and then open them from the synced folder on your desktop. No compatibility issues. π
Feel free to use my link – it’ll give you extra space: https://db.tt/KFkHo97V
Hmmm, I may have to look at that. I’m not sure if that extra step would be worth it, but we’ll see how well I can manage with the free Photoshop app I got. So far, it’s not adjusting exposure/colour as well as I’d like but I might need to play with it some more.
Sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope you’re able to figure out a good system, I would be sad if your blog went on hiatus. It’s the first blog I check each day! But your readers would understand, that sounds frustrating to deal with.
I love that blouse….such an amazing find!
Aww, thank you! I wrote that mainly out of frustration at the time (it had JUST happened). Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, I think I’ll be able to find a way to work around this. I’d miss the blog too much! And, of course, you guys π
I had a similar thing happen – call apple customer service and express how frustrated you are, They often can give you a solution. They did this for me… this was a few years back, though.
