Thoughts: Another Ralph Lauren-inspired outfit (see below). It was a chance for me to pull out an old favourite dress; the soft, floaty silk ruffle at the bottom perfectly captures what I love the most about the original inspiration – that fabulous skirt. It’s a bit shorter than I would like, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t low-key looking for the RL version of the skirt (or something just like it). But in the meantime, this made me feel fabulous so it’s a win.

Thoughts: It’s been a while since I’ve done a Bohemian outfit, and this one felt like a nice change of pace. I do adore this pink dress, it’s so lovely and bright; the cut is also interesting – it almost looks like harem-style pants.

Details: Tse sweater (thrift), Escada blazer (thrift), Gap skirt (retail), Rafael Alfandary necklace (eBay)

Thoughts: Pulled out the oldest item in my closet: this Gap silk skirt from 2000. That’s right; it’s officially vintage. I still remember buying it — on clearance sale, and it was still a splurge for me at the time. It was unlike anything else I’d seen at Gap at the time, and felt quite luxe. It still does, tbh. The fabric is lovely to the touch, and the pattern is beautiful. And although I paired it with other vintage pieces here, the outfit doesn’t feel dated to me at all.

Details: Wilfred sweater (retail), Urban Outfitters pants (thrift), YSL belt (thrift), Echo scarf (consignment), J. Crew shoes (retail)

Thoughts: I hope Jessica Fletcher would approve this scarf experiment. It’s such a gorgeous (lightweight wool) scarf, I had to keep the rest of the outfit very simple. I quite like how that turned out.

Details: Oak & Fort top (retail), Tabitha jacket (thrift), Miss Sixty skirt (thrift), YSL belt (thrift)

Thoughts: I haven’t come across Miss Sixty in yeeears, and then this skirt randomly popped up on a rack at my local thrift store. I thought it was a vintage skirt at first, before I saw the label; it doesn’t look like Miss Sixty piece to me, based on what I remember of the brand. However, it’s a truly fabulous skirt — and so long! I actually have to cinch it high with a belt so I don’t trip on it when I walk. This is not a problem in my books because I love a high-waisted skirt … especially paired with a cropped jacket.

Details: J Crew shirt (thrift), Tse sweater (thrift), Gap jacket (thrift), Ralph Lauren skirt (thrift), J. Crew shoes (consignment), MaxMara belt (Poshmark)

Thoughts: I didn’t use a Ralph Lauren runway look as inspo for this outfit, but the essence is there, I think. I found this amazing, real suede Gap jacket (also from the early 2000s) last year, and have been patiently waiting for the chance to wear it. I have never been a huge fan of brown, but this whiskey/tobacco colour is quite interesting. It also pairs really well with blues and greens, which are my favourite, so I’m looking forward to trying out a few more combinations.

  1. I just love how your looks evolve! Always changing, but always unique and interesting, without being “crazy old aunt.”

  2. Ugh…I would love to have that Hemant & Nandita jacket for myself. I’ve been looking for a boho quilt jacket at my thrift scene on and off for 7+yrs. I should just pick one up on ebay or Poshmark. The chance of me finding one around my thrift scene is bismal.

That GAP jacket seems like a solid piece for your latest aesthetic. Back in the day, it seemed like the GAP had really nice quality, particularly for their outerwear. I had passed on a vintage black leather GAP bomber b/c I didn’t think I would wear it much. One of my thrift regrets.

    • I think vintage Gap is very underrated. It’s solid quality. I’m always looking for it in thrift stores but it’s rare these days.

  3. Tbh, like the combination of colors, textures, and patterns that you put together in the first outfit more than the inspiration picture. Fabulous, indeed!

    • Ahh, thank you! I’m not sure if I can improve on the original, but I hope I can at least make it my own. That’s the goal 🙂

  4. Sigh! I save up your blog for Fridays when it feels like a treat to scroll through your gorgeous, gorgeous outfits. I once had a beautiful real suede jacket of just that color with a similar collar but shirttail bottom, what a great piece of clothing. Thanks for sharing all your looks with us, it’s such a pleasure to read along!

  5. ALL excellent, Adina! Looked up the brand Myne, & conclude you were VERY lucky to thrift it–all the way from Egypt!! xo

  6. So many cool outfits in this roundup! I love all the skirts (or the dress, in the case of the Dries Van Noten), and all the prints.

    • I’ve been doing less bold colours, I think, and I’m not sure why. Maybe a cold, wet spring is to blame. But now I need to figure out how to transition this vibe/aesthetic into summer.
