What I Wore: Out and About

Y’all may think I’m exaggerating when I say that I have a “mommy uniform”. I’m not.

Lately, I’m ALL about the shirt-sweater combo. I have accumulated a variety of colour/print options at a truly alarming rate (thanks, J. Crew clearance rack!), but they do make me feel 100% more put-together than a regular ol’ t-shirt would. [Not that there is something wrong with t-shirts. I wear them. Lots.] And some days, looking put-together is about all the greatness I can achieve.

Going Boldly Forth (with Boden)

What I Wore: Shopping

Can you deal with another one of my punny titles? No? Oh well … sorry about that, then.

Boden was one of my recent-ish revelations; it’s kind of like a British J. Crew, so it would make sense that I would eventually discover and fall in love with the brand. They feature a ton of prints every season, and their prints are a just-right blend of stand-out-ish and wearable (in my opinion, but you know I like big prints, and I cannot lie). I’m a big fan of their dresses, in particular, because many of them are made from a nice jersey-type material that skims the body without clinging – and the styles are body-flattering too. Blah, blah, blah … I highly recommend checking out Boden. Just don’t look at their retail prices – you will misplace an eyebrow or two. Find their stuff on eBay like I did. This dress was under $40, shipping included.

What I Wore: Friday Morning School Run

Unnecessarily dressy? Yes. Cute anyway? Yes. According to my Instagram feed, anyway.

I couldn’t wait to wear this J. Crew blazer I scored at Red Pony Consignment – for a great deal, natch. For some reason, post-baby #2, my upper body (rib cage and shoulders) have stretched some more, making all of my old blazers resemble straightjackets. Straightjackets two sizes too small. So I’m snapping up blazers whenever I find them for a good price because at some point in the future (September to be specific) I will have to start dressing like a professional adult again. Blazers are more useful for that than pyjamas, I’m pretty sure.
