I feel like I write this every month, but here goes anyway: June was busy, you guys. Between work, and the kids, and the house, and the blog, and the book I’m trying to cram in on top of everything else … I basically didn’t exhale all month. My husband and I had a lovely mini-break at the beginning of July, but now life is back to “hectic” mode. I just have to give up the idea that things will “settle down”, and embrace the madness.

What does all that have to do with my outfits? Not much, except for the fact that I rarely have any time to think about what I wear. Or what I buy. Or style in general. I’m just grateful that I have a wardrobe that functions well without requiring too much thought on my part. Coasting is the current name of my style game. With that, on to the outfits!

With everything going on in June, I’m pretty pleased with how the month’s outfits turned out. As always, seeing them all lined up puts them in a new perspective, but they were not altogether as heinous as they could have been. My favourite piece was probably the neon tweed J. Crew dress, with the floral Boden skirt a close second. And as much as I don’t like the quality of my blush pink Topshop blazer, it’s a great summer piece. My fave outfits were #1, #9, #11, #15 and #22.

I just want to take a quick sec to thank you guys for sticking with BCRL. I know that posting here has been increasingly sporadic, and I’m not as present as I’d like to be (in the comments here or in the comments of my fave blogs – you know who you are), but I truly appreciate your continued support and I love hearing from you. I do spend more time on IG these days – easy procrastination – so feel free to give me a shout there (or email me!) any time. Cheers!

16 Comments on What I Wore: June Work Wardrobe Capsule

  1. I love the top in #3! My favourites are 11, 16, 19, and 22. You look really lovely in 19! I can’t believe how different 10 and 21 look – that’s the same dress, right?

  2. Outfits 15 and 22 make me want to try incorporating pants into my work wardrobe more often. (I’ve basically never worn pants to any of my internships or interviews in the last few years…) Good luck with all the busy things!

    • I used to hate/never wear pants to work either, but I’ve been coming around this year. It helped to find a style I liked, finally.

  3. i love these roundups and look forward to them every month! my favs are 5, 6, 11, and 22. you look so fierce in all of these, which tells me that you are kicking butt at life and your clothes are just reflecting that.

seriously want to recreate 6 and 22, and now I extra-need a matching set because obviously.

I need to go look up where your navy skirt is from…and then buy it.

    xoxoxoxo

    • The navy skirt is from Zara, but I’m sure they have similar things at other retailers. I think places like ASOS and Topshop have also done a ton of midi skirts this year.

Also, thank you, you are so sweet! I’d like to think I’m kicking butt (even if life is kicking MY butt just as often) πŸ˜‰

  4. Hi Adina. I really enjoy reading your blog! I’ve never commented before but just wanted to say I’m a big fan of outfits 3, 6, 15, 19 and 23. Wishing you a wonderful day!

    • Thanks and welcome! It’s always lovely to hear from new readers. Hope you’ll continue to enjoy the blog πŸ™‚
