So, on Monday, Cassie and I showed you our takes on the denim jacket, summer style, so today it’s time to look forward towards – you guessed it – early fall.
Now, I am not one of those people who gets super excited about fall; I like it just fine, since it’s infinitely preferable to winter, but it doesn’t beat summer in my books. With that said, style-wise, it does provide an opportunity to try some different looks. Early fall, when the temperatures are still decent, is especially fun: all the layering possibilities, minus the cold and wetness.
When I saw Cassie’s outfit, I immediately fell in love … and decided I had to try it for myself. Immediately. Yep, I’m a big ol’ copycat. But I think it’s interesting how the same basic pieces – pencil skirt, plaid shirt, denim jacket – can still look so different and reflect our individual styles.
This outfit is probably a little too impractical for my typical weekend, but it has great potential as an alternative to casual Friday jeans at work. Better yet, it’s perfect for Canadian Finals Rodeo when the office has a “Be Seen in Jeans” theme happening for a week. Can’t wait! And I can’t wait to show you the last of our denim jacket looks – come back on Friday, will ya? (And don’t forget to check Cassie’s blog for more pics of her fantastic outfit!)
I just discovered your blog, and absolutely love it! Your philosophy and your photos are inspiring me to do more thrift/ebay shopping, and just generally make me happy. I’m a 31-year old professional, newly married to a frugal husband, and no kids yet. Keep it up. I love this outfit post in particular.
omg luuuuuuuv this outfit. it’s so perfectly Adina without being at all expected. that’s the best.
Thanks! I wish I could take more credit for it 😉
