This used to be my casual Friday formula for ages, but then I got out of the habit of wearing jeans, it seems. Don’t know what that’s about. Anyway, I’m trying to rediscover my love mild affection for jeans, so I went back to the tried and true. I don’t have much else to say about this outfit except: (a) I love finding $8 Theory blazers (thanks, Goodwill!), and (b) I’m glad these Varina flats are finally starting to break in a little bit. Last time I wore them, my heel actually bled (sorry, TMI?); thankfully, I emerged injury-free on this occasion. Can’t beat a nice pop of colour though, right? Right.

  1. Really cute outfit! I like the choice of shoes. If only we were allowed to wear jeans on Friday at my office…

    • You’re not? There would be a rebellion here if they did away with casual Friday. Some of the senior guys here have been known to sport denim during the rest of the week too …

  2. How long did it take you to break in the shoes? I would really like to get myself a pair, but I’m a little nervous of the breaking in process to be honest.

    • Honestly? I don’t know. I’ve worn them less than 10 times (in 3 years, yikes!) and they’re still not 100% broken in. They’re cute – the bow is sweet, they come in great colours – but they’re not otherwise anything out of the ordinary. I would honestly try the Varas (they have a small heel, like 1 inch or something, basically flats) or the lower heeled pumps. They might cost a little more, but you get the same look in a more comfortable version. Or if it’s flats you want, I’d probably pick other brands over the Ferragamos. Just my two cents.

  3. I love this casual look! The pop of color that the shoes bring is a perfect touch.

Funny (or maybe more creepy?) side story…I hopped on over to eBay and searched for “Gap Striped Peplum” to see if I could find your great top. I scroll down the page and there YOU are. Yes, YOU. Wearing THE top. So someone is using your blog picture to re-sell clothing! Have a look for yourself…

    • Ah, jeez! Not again 🙁 This has happened before, and it really ticks me off. Ebay takes forever to deal with complaints, so the listings usually are over before they do anything.

The main thing is: I don’t sell on eBay, you guys. Please, please don’t buy thinking you’re buying from me.

      • A size large and a location in Pennsylvania? I knew it wasn’t you! It’s really too bad that nothing can be done to stop it from happening.
