I wore the pants version of this outfit at the beginning of the month, so I thought this would be a nice bookend. I don’t normally wear wool pieces in the summertime (especially a hot summer like this one), but the hearing room where I spent the better part of July was glacial, which made this combo perfectly temperature-appropriate.

Mustard yellow is such a happy colour, isn’t it? I was so taken with the yellow-on-yellow happening here that I didn’t realize until much later that I accidentally dressed like a bumblebee. Considering how insanely busy the last 4 weeks have been, perhaps that’s rather apt. Bzzz, bzzz!

  1. I love your blog and have never missed a day since the beginning (I went back and caught up with the early years). But please continue telling us which pieces you thrifted in each daily entry. I know it is more work for you, but t gives me inspiration. Thank you

    • No problem — sorry, I’ve been getting lazy with the captions. Thank you for reading! (Those early years are worth a laugh or two — thanks for sticking around even after re-visiting them!)

  2. I love how you can go from minimalistic neutrals (yesterday) to today’s brights – yet all these pieces are consistent and your style shines through. I’m glad I don’t have to pick one “signature style” and can continue to wear all the clothes that make me happy, regardless of style!

    • I think that’s a great approach to style, actually. My problem is that I like things that are easily categorized, and it bothers my obsessive-compulsive side that my closet has/used to have a split personality. With that said, I’ll never be 100% minimalist, even in aesthetic.
