I feel like this is such an old school combo — a crisp-collared shirt (with French cuffs, no less) and pearls. It feels a lot more ‘put together’ than I normally manage, but it’s a very simple outfit when you get down to it. I really wanted to wear my old navy midi skirt — remember it? — with my new Ferragamo pumps, and the rest of the outfit just sort of coalesced around that pairing. These shoes are so comfortable (and gorgeous) that I want to wear them every day; unfortunately, they’re quite a lot of `look`, so I have to be careful about the rest of the outfit — and creative, which I don’t really feel often these days. A combination of old school stress and the seasonal change is sapping my will to … well, do much of anything except vegetate. Le sigh. Is it March yet?

  1. Guess what outfit I’ve got sat in my drafts…. Go on guess 😉

Navy midi skirt, white (with green polka dots naturally) shirt and navy/silver shoes. Ha ha 🙂

Safe to say I like your old school outfit x

  2. I *LOVE* this look!!! Pencil skirts are always a good idea, but what a classic look you put together today. Love it!

  3. I live in Florida and experience SAD in the summer. I always feel best when the weather starts to cool off a bit, and I live for winter. Although I guess my winter is more like your early fall. People always tell me that if I experienced a true winter I would hate it,, but I know that wouldn’t happen.

    • I love our late summer/early fall, which is probably like your winter. If the weather could be high 60s/low 70s all year round, I would be in heaven. But our winter is typically 0F, with weeks of minus 30F thrown in for good measure. I don’t know anyone who loves that, honestly.
