In unsolicited weather updates, spring has sprung in Edmonton for the fifth or sixth – and hopefully final – time. It’s trippy to go from snow to double digit (Celsius) weather in the space of a few days. I have no idea what I’m supposed to be wearing outside. A light jacket? Sandals?
It’s ok. I solved the problem by the simple expedient of not leaving the house.
Just kidding.

Actually, I did leave the house … and I was also a hermit (the rest of the time). Mother Nature’s not the only one who flip flops around here. One day this week I even went to the office, all the way to the down of the town. [Sorry, that was a terrible attempt at a joke.] It was lovely to see some of my work peeps in person, but I felt more exhausted than usual after – not sure if it was the change in routine (my AuDHD brain doesn’t like those) or the extra social time, but I was definitely wiped. Today, I have plans to meet up with a friend for a little thrift adventure. It’s been too long since we’ve been able to plan one so I’m very excited.

The cover for The Mysterious Affair at Gaunt Hall is done!! I’m in love! Julie Van Huizen did a fantastic job with it (again) and I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I’ve ordered and am expecting the proof copy to arrive tomorrow, which means I am one step closer to pub. Hopefully, by this time next week, I’ll have the eBook up for pre-order. Pub date will be … drum roll, please. June 9, 2026. Eek!

This week, I got two new books delivered that I’m super pumped to read: Anthony Horowitz’s latest murder mystery release, A Deadly Episode; and Bring No Clothes: Bloomsbury and the Philosophy of Fashion by Charlie Porter. I’m especially looking forward to the latter. The Bloomsbury Group and fashion? Two of my fave obsessions? Say less 😉
Have a great weekend!
