So, in addition to the Smythe blazer you’ve already seen, I bought one other thing with the last of my Xmas gift money …

“toddler art project” or “luxe statement”?

There was something about this MaxMara necklace which immediately drew me to it, although I’m honestly not sure if this will turn into one of those pieces I will wear (and treasure) forever, or a regretted impulse buy. It could go either way. For now, I love it … so, of course, I couldn’t wait to wear it. I thought it might add a little something to this Boden dress, which is very nice but kinda hard to accessorize. I don’t know if the leaf-on-leaf action is rather overdoing it, but I figured I might as well go big or go home. Boom, there you have it.

This is such an Elle Woods outfit, isn’t it? It’s not my usual style, even though I certainly have a penchant for twee, but there’s something about the floral print on the bottom half of this Tabitha dress that draws me in. I toned down the in-yo-face pink with a black cardigan (whomp, whomp), but added a little bit of colour with my burgundy MbMJ Mag bag and dark green pumps. I think that’s toned down, at any rate …

How cute are these floral bracelets? Couldn’t resist throwing them on together, even though arm parties are now surely a thing of the past. I guess you could say that this entire outfit was a “blast from the past”.

I loved this outfit so much, you guys, I wore it twice. That rarely happens; when you have as many clothes as I do, constant remixing is a major guilt-minimizing strategy. (“Why yes, I DO have a lot of clothes, but see how many ways I can wear everything?” Ahem.) There is some thing about the black-grey-blue combo that’s just so … pleasing to my eye. That’s the best way I can put it. It’s almost soothing. Strange and random, but true.

Even though, looking back at these photos, the combo of skinny black jeggings and leather jacket reads a little Sandy-post-makeover. Oh well.

Lots of thrift pieces are in the mix here. The (faux) leather jacket you’ve seen before, and it’s turned into a weekend staple for me; I’ve already worn it 12 times since buying it last month. The jeggings are Joe’s Jeans, and hella comfortable. The sweater was a retail purchase from Joe Fresh, and I’m still digging its slightly rugged vibe. Because it’s sleeveless, it’s a great layering piece for the colder weather we’ve been having lately. The newest piece is this scarf I thrifted for $5. The brand is 14th & Union, which appears to be sold at Nordstrom. I could tell it was decent quality just from the hand feel (so, so soft) and the watercolour-esque floral print was just too lovely to pass up. No such thing as too many scarves, right?
