May was a tough month. Between work and some personal issues, I haven’t had much time to spend on the blog (sorry!) or my outfits in general. I don’t want to make any promises I can’t keep, but I’m cautiously optimistic that June will be a better month on both counts.

Oh, hey – I managed to put on clothes, ma! Ok, nothing to get super excited about here, but #2 and #11 were pretty cute, and there were no egregious failures either. I really liked the new pieces I added this month – the leaf print Cynthia Rowley top, and the blue J. Crew Factory blazer (sorry, no recap either!) – and they were a breeze to blend in with my existing wardrobe. Speaking of which, I re-discovered some old favourites, including the black Sweet Chemise dress (ancient), the tan Valentino skirt (ditto), and the eci dress from a couple of months ago. Maybe there’s something to be said about having a closet to rival Imelda’s.

  1. I hope June goes better for you :s If it makes you feel better, this recap has the most “I want to wear that!” outfits in it that I’ve seen to date 🙂

    • Aww, that’s awesome. June is actually going worse, at least in the how-the-hell-am-I-going-to-survive-it stakes. If being busy is a sign of success, then I have ARRIVED, baby! That’s how I’m gonna look at it, anyway. As a Facebook meme said, the glass is not half full or half empty – it’s refillable. (And so is my workload – bada bing!)

  2. 1, 2, and 11 are also my favourites! You’re right there’s nothing wrong with your May outfits, but they’re not as special as some you’ve created in other months. And I think your outfits are a little bit dark for spring – which is nothing bad, just not as exiting 😉 Looking forward to your June outfits!

    • You’re probably right, although you can blame that on my office wardrobe; most of my clothes are year-rounders, not seasonal, so there aren’t a lot of “summer” clothes, per se. I did recently buy a neon yellow dress, so that should brighten things up.

        • Spring/summer is hard because it so short here that it’s hard to devote a whole new wardrobe of light colours for only a few months. I feel better about all of my black after seeing your wardrobe. I’m also excited to see the yellow dress!

    • Glad to hear it! It’s always interesting to see a month’s worth of outfits lined up next to each other – it puts things in a new perspective.

    • Thanks! Here’s a sneak peek at next month’s wrap-up: June sucks too 🙁 Hopefully that won’t be reflected in my outfits, but man oh man … where did the brakes on my lifemobile go? Jesus take the wheel, indeed.

  3. the thing that always impresses me when I see your month is that you have different silhouettes going on. Some people have different outfits but when you look at them they are basically the same thing but in different colours – but your wardrobe is genuinely varied. Kudos! and I love 1,2,8.10 and 14 particularly – is that too many? Sorry June sucks – is it too early to cross fingers for July?

    • Thank you! I sometimes feel like I get into a rut with my clothes and, as I said, these recaps put things in perspective – sometimes they confirm it, but sometimes they make me realize I’m less predictable than I thought. And, hey, I’m glad you have a lot of favourites and not the other way around 😉

July will (hopefully) be better, if only because I have 3 days off at the beginning of it.
