I feel like this is such an old school combo — a crisp-collared shirt (with French cuffs, no less) and pearls. It feels a lot more ‘put together’ than I normally manage, but it’s a very simple outfit when you get down to it. I really wanted to wear my old navy midi skirt — remember it? — with my new Ferragamo pumps, and the rest of the outfit just sort of coalesced around that pairing. These shoes are so comfortable (and gorgeous) that I want to wear them every day; unfortunately, they’re quite a lot of `look`, so I have to be careful about the rest of the outfit — and creative, which I don’t really feel often these days. A combination of old school stress and the seasonal change is sapping my will to … well, do much of anything except vegetate. Le sigh. Is it March yet?

Weekend Neutrals
I’ve basically lived in this Madewell sweater ever since I thrifted it. It’s my perfect weekend jam. A muted colour that goes with everything in my closet, a nice bit of texture, a comfy loose fit — what more could a woman ask for? The knit is a cotton-viscose-nylon blend, which seems like a random combination, but it’s quite warm and cozy, and not scratchy at all. There is a bit of piling happening, but that’s probably par for the course for mall brands these days. I don’t mind; it adds character, haha.
I’m also wearing my new thrifted J Brand skinny jeans, which are a rather unusual muddled blue wash. Everything else is old, and the outfit is altogether pretty simple, but that’s my weekend mantra. Keep it simple; life provides its own complexities.
